Question by countryrules101: How many mushers have died in the Iditarod?
I’ve looked everywhere, google, ask, and now i’m turning to here. Can someone find out how many MUSHERS, not dogs, have died in the Iditarod since the beginning?

I would like a source, whether it’s a website or a book name that i can later look it up in.

Help is much appreciated, thanks!

I wasn’t able to find any info on deaths of mushers during the Iditarod anywhere. Maybe there haven’t been any (which seems pretty miraculous). Or.. maybe they don’t want people to know about it. I’ve never heard of any though. Sorry I couldn’t be much more help, but your question interested me as I’ve visited Alaska and visited with a couple of people who’ve competed in the Iditarod. Hope someone else comes up with a better answer for you!
