Martin Scorsese Will Be Granted the Award of Lifetime Achievement by 67th Golden Globe Awards

The Board of Directors of HFPA voted and decided finally. The award the 67th Golden Globe Cecil B • DeMille lifetime achievement award to the famous film director Martin Scorsese. It is in honor of his remarkbale contributions to the entertainment.
It will be awarded at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards on January 17 together with all the other awards. Martin Scorsese was born in New York in 1942. His 67 birthday will come in the next week. He has photographed many classical masterpieces, such as “Taxi Driver”, “New York, New York,” “The Color of Money,” “The Last Temptation of Christ” and so on.
Scorsese has twice received the Golden Globes Award for best director. One was for the 2006 movie The Departed and another was for the 2002 movie Gangs of New York. The former also has made him win the Academy Award for Best Director for the first time.
Besides, he has won four times Golden Globe nominationed directors respectively for Casino, The Age of Innocence, Goodfellas and Raging Bull, and once nominated scenarist of Raging Bull. The Cecil B. DeMille Award is Golden Globe’s lifetime achievement award for thanking filmmakers or actors that contributing good quality cinema. Respectively, in recent years the award has been feted to Jack Nicholson (1999), Barbra Streisand (2000).
and Al Pacino(2001), Harrison Ford(2002), Gene Hackman(2003), Michael Douglas(2004), Robin Williams(2005). Besides Anthony Hopkins (2006), Warren Beatty (2007) and Steven Spielberg (2009).
The 67th Golden Globe nominations list will be released in December 15 (Tuesday) of this year. The ceremongy will be held on January,17 2010(Sunday) in The Beverly Hilton. This year’s awards ceremony for the first time will present compere, acted by comedian Ricky Gewiss.
