For the things I love to do, back-country touring and camping, the "village" or "trapline" types of Alaskan huskies are perfect. Although the village types are becoming harder to find, their work ethic and physical ability to draw a heavy load over considerable distances is undeniable. One has to love the diversity of 'types' within the breed. Ranging from big old "utility" types such as my guys, to hot-rod sprint racers to long-distance dogs that can trot day and night without faltering, they are truly amazing to me.

If there is a job to be done, there is a type of Alaskan husky that can do the job, and do it well.
