What is the current record for weight pulling? And how many feet was the load pulled?

I am not really up to par on weight pulling, so I am going to do a little research on the sport!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, dog harness in one hand, duct tape in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming...“Wow---what a ride”

in the 70's there was a father -son who both pulled 5200lbs on a sled on snow in alaska 25'. it is said the conditions were perfect and this record have never been close to being broken.there were st. bernards.

i have heard of dogs pulling 7000+lbs on a wheeled cart in competition.my best is close to 5000lbs.

they now have rail tracks and on a level track they have pulled over 12000lbs!

That is some great info. Thanks Kassi. I never ever thought dogs could pull that much. That's pretty darn cool though!

That enthusiasm to pull that much is what I want to try and instill into my dogs!

By the way, Kassi, would you like to post a topic to the New Member Introductions list so we can all get to know you better? Thank you kindly for your knowledge, by the way.
