I’ve found that this question varies from musher to musher. How many times do you feed your dogs per day? Some feed once per day, some feed twice per day, and some more. What do you do?

We feed twice per day, usually breakfast or brunch, then around dinner time. they each have certain measurements of food they get.
I like doing it that way. They all pretty much get a standard amount during summer -but then specific amounts in winter.
We normally only feed our sprint dogs once a day. However if a dog needs to gain weight we will feed twice a day. Pups are always fed twice a day, as well as pregnant and lacating bitches.
Thanks for sharing Deb. I’m sure there will be many who learn from your style of feeding. I like the once a day approach. Do you usually feed in the morning - or at night after running, middle of the day, etc..?
We feed twice a day in the summer. Taking the normal ration and splitting it so they get more water. In the winter we water with a meat broth a hour or two before a run then a little when we return. Then a full meal of cooked fish, oil, and 30/20 commercial food.
How often do you water them during your runs?
