one of the nice things about having kids is taking them to the movies. and these two films, an american tail and feivel goes west were obvious favorites. we had these two movies on vhs and wore them out. my kids are all teenagers now and probably not as involved in watching these kinds of films as they once were, but i really liked these two films a lot so i kind of bought them for myself! if you have seen them then you know how agreeable they are. if not and you are searching for something sterling for your kids to explore, then i highly recommend. the legend is about the experince of the immagrant coming to america, family and friendship, and the determination to persevere. the tale and animation is top notch, on par with disney. many of the characters are voiced by current actors, john cleese and dom deluise to name a few. this dvd contains both movies on one disc and even though it would have been nice to glimpse them collect the royal treatment that disney lavishes on their films, im calm joyful to have them. these are five star lively classics that your children will admire and if youre a mammoth kid then you’ll worship them too!

Every now and then, a classic character is born. Enter Fivel. In Russia, Fivel’s family is threatened by cats, so they go on a boat that’s slip for America-where there are no cats. The truth is that America has as many cats as Russia did. Fivel gets seperated from his family, who maintain that he died. Fivel spends the rest of the movie making modern friends in America (including a cat) . The first time I saw this movie, I fell in fancy with it. This is a truly family classic.

Fivel Goes West is one of those rare sequels that’s unprejudiced as suited as the first movie-if not better. Fivel and his family head west for a simpler life. But there are cats in the west too.
