Not made specifically for E series cameras
They make this lens sound like it was made for the Olympus E series cameras but it is far from it. Yes, you can take photos with it using your E series but what they don’t tell you here is that you need to use an adaptor to get it to attach to the camera body. This means that it will not be able to communicate with the camera so you will need to adjust things manually by sliding the telescopic lens in and out as well as manually adusting your camera with the proper settings for f-stop.
I purchased this product knowing that I would probably need the adapter ring and hoping that it would come with it. They don’t mention anything about it in their ad… only that this lens is “for Olympus EVOLT”. I did get one or two shots that were worth framing but took forever to get everything set just right. You better hope any nature subjects don’t move for about five minutes because it will take that long to get everything set up just right to take the photo. Or set it up and hope that the subject moves into frame and in focus.
For the money and what I was wanting, this lens will work because I just can’t afford the big bucks for the true “made to work with the Olympus EVOLT” cameras that take a lot of the work out of setting up everything.
