I was in Anchorage this weekend, and saw something called Blue-Emu on sale. It sounded similar to Algyvyl (but was $20 a thingy!!), so I snagged some.
I remembered some people on here talking about Emu Oil. This stuff is more of a paste, and I don't know if it's made by the same company. Has anyone tried it on their dogs before? Does it work as well as Algyvyl? Better?
Doesn't Adanac sell emu products?
Yep! The Emu products they sell are manufactured by Laid in Montana; and it would beneficial to purchase from Adanac as it is the same cost to go through them AND it helps to support mushing suppliers!
Mountain Ridge (<!-- w -->http://www.mtnridge.com<!-- w -->) carries a complete line of Emu oil based products that are excellent.
They have linament, wound spray, foot ointment and more.
I highly reccomend the line!

Thanks! I'm not certian if the Blue Emu is made by the same company, but I hope it is! It's not really an oil- more of a paste that you massage in.
If it's not, I think I'll get a bottle of Emu Oil to try out.
Does it happen to list ingredients?

I use Emu Oil made by Laid In Montana, and I LOVE it. Its healing properties are amazing; dog had a large gash in his paw, so figured it was going to be a slow healing process. The bottom of his pad was basically dangling completely off. So I cleaned it up, put emu oil on it, put a bootie on him, and after about 1 week his wound was completely healed. It was amazing! Do you know if you purchased the Anti-Inflammatory oil or more of the Wound Healing oil? The only difference would probably be just added herbs in the Wound oil. The Would Oil would still have the same Anti-Inflammatory properties as well though.
Emu oil is great as it has anti-inflammatory AND anti-bacterial properties all in itself.
