If you are using cable ganglines, be sure that you always have a pair of cable cutters with you at all times. If the cable line gets rapped around a dog, you will be glad you have the cutters to get the dog out of a tight place. Same thing goes with polyethylene ropes. Keep a knife handy.

A good way to feed is to have a regular plastic kiddie sled to haul around your buckets in. Take a piece of plywood and cut it down to fit on top of the sled. Then cut two holes just big enough for a 5 gallon bucket. You can attach it to the sled with zip ties.

If you are seeing a problem with flies attacking your poor sled dog’s ears, you can place a single drop of anti-flea medication on each ear. This will cause the flys to not bother your dog anymore; even though this little trick isn’t advertised on the anti-flea and tick medication packaging.

To help make your kennel prettier, less smelly, and to eliminate some bugs, plant mint around the border of your kennel. I planted a border of mint around my kennel, and I think it has been one of the best choices I have ever made!
