I just started a compost pile next to my kennel, much to the spark of interest generated by Laurie. :) I basically took a piece of wire fencing and made a 4' across circle. Then I just started to layer it with some dirt, straw bedding, and kitchen scraps.

The important thing to remember, is that if you are going to use compost for your garden (fruits/vegetables) you can't use dog feces or urine. So in my compast pile, I am only using dry/clean but old bedding from the dog's houses.

So now I have a nice way to make some good compost for my spring garden, while using a resource from my kennel!

It's also nice to see all of that extra food waste going to use!
