Just today I was clipping our chihuahua's nails and she flinched while I was cutting and I just barely nicked her quick. Her nails are also all black, which makes cutting them even harder. Since I never have had a problem cutting the quick on any of the dogs (and the huskies generally keep their nails trimmed by all the running they do), I didn't have any anti-bleed quick solution to stop the bleeding. So I had the idea of just dipping her paw in some corn starch. Worked like a charm! :D
