How do you make it so that when it snows it doesn't get buried? We get TONS of snow here sometimes covering our house. A long time ago it snowed so much that almost everyone got stuck in their houses, had to dig out or have someone dig from outside. Scary! But that happens rarely. I remember my uncle's team, one of the dogs got stuck in his house after heavy snowfall. We discovered him and got him out. My neighbor had two huskies and he made their houses with no roof but with long walls that would shelter them from the winds. If it was North Wind the dogs would stay behind the southern wall and vice versa.
