Basically, Emu Products have anti-inflammatory and healing characteristics. So it is almost like a package of Algyval and Neosporin in one. :)

I just talked to Karen Ramstead just a couple weeks ago about it, and she said she used the Emu Products during training and on the Iditarod, and she LOVED it.

I just ordered a bit to try it out myself as well.

You can purchase it from <!-- m -->http://www.adanacsleds.com<!-- m --> It is listed under Emu Products on their Products page.

Try it out, and we can all let eachother know how we like it!!!

Depending on which Emu oil product you are using, there is no need to use it with Algyval, Christian. The Mountain Ridge Emu oil linament can be used in place of Algyval.
Algyval is great stuff, but very, very pricey.

Oh, so you can use Emu Oil for BOTH anti inflammatory AND for healing cuts and such?

Thanks Karen,

Mountain Ridge makes a wound salve, a linament, a foot ointment and I believe a few more products out of Emu oil.

Oh okay, that is what I was asking. Whether or not you use different products, or just use one product interchangably.

Each of the Mtn Ridge Emu oil products has different ingredients added to the Emu oil for different purposes. Although one generic product might work for a number of different purposes, I believe that the most effective product will usually be one designed for a specific need.

Okay, that is kind of what I was thinking. I have the Emu Oil wound salve, which also has some herbs in it as well. SO if I am correct, Emu Oil has healing AND anti-inflammatory characteristics BY ITSELF.

Thanks,

Christian

My understanding is that it's primary function is as a 'carrier', similar to DMSO, but that it does have some anti inflamatory properties on it's own.

Okay, that makes perfect sense. Well, I have already been able to use it on a cut pad on one of my dogs. Now I can see how it works! Thanks for all the info Karen. I really appreciate it.

I used the emu ointment bought through mt ridge this winter and I have to say that I liked it. In the past, I had dogs with tougher feet, so I dont have alot of expreience with different types, but I will use it again this coming season.
