Okay. I would just like some ideas and maybe some personal experiences on how to exercise a dog when their owner is sick.
I have been sick for the past week and a half now. I decided not to exercise Nikaya until today. I couldn't let him go without exercise any longer. I usually take him for about a 2 mile run or so. But, we never end up running the whole way. He likes to stop and go. And, I just let him for now. Anyway, my parents both work and don't have time when they get home to take over the exercising and I won't let my sister alone with Nikaya because she's too mean to him. She has begged to walk him before, though.
Well, we haven't been going now for a while and today we went for about 2 1/4 miles. My sister was with us so we didn't run at all. Anyways, the wind was about 25 or 30 mph. And, now I'm even SICKER! But, I still have to exercise him. I made a comittment to him when I got him, that I would take the best care possible of him and that whatever he needs, I will provide that.
Nikaya's kennel is not big enough to get adequate exercise and the cable system, I don't even like to use. That's dad's idea. But, a lot, now, he just comes inside with me during the day although my dad doesn't care too much for that, either.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice on what I should do and if I am wrong or right? I would love some opinions on this matter. Oh yeah, I was feeling fine until after the walk. And, then I came in and watched "Pirates of the Carribean" and during that, I began to get my old syptoms back. :( And, a few more (symptoms) to add to the mix.
Thanks in advance for the responses...
Caitlyn
P.S. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. I wasn't sure where I should put this post.
