Hi,

We just had a really nice visit with Nathan and Jennifer (Payne) Sterling from ALaska. They are having a bit of a hard trip to the WCC in Daaquam , Quebec as they blew the head gasket in their dog truck , right after Ft.Nelson. Thanks to the Hartum's and the Saunderson's they were able to continue eastward. Eddy and Amy Streeper helped out with getting some training trails for them and then called us to see if our trails were hard and fast, where they could do a speed run. Thankfully, we had exactly what the Sterling's were looking for. They had a good run, and they're hopefully on their way to Daaquam, safely. We've had several mushers pop in this winter, but most are friends we already know, so it's great to meet someone we've read about in the racing results.

So go Jennifer, go! She's in the 8 dog and the 6 dog and Windigo wishes her all the best. If someone is at Daaquam, and meets them, please relay a message to them that they need to stop here to pick up some gear for Mark Hartum before heading back to Alaska. We'd really appreciate it.

We hope ALL the competitors at the WCC have great runs in their races and return home safely. We'll be checking the results on Marc LaFountain's web site.
