Is the round building a yurt or just a round building?

It is cool to remember that every single one of those pickups was barged up to Nome!
Everything in Nome arrives by boat or plane - well, except for a bunch of crazy mushers!!!!

5 in the picture just now, must have been a pick up conference.
I think you are right. They must have a pickup truck manufacturing plant right in Nome. :)
snow now. ;)
hey they do a good line in rough pick up trucks, or the same one parks there often, sunset over the water looks good tonight, less waves too. :)
Cool! I'm going to watch it this year. I remember rushing home after school to watch Sorlie win the '05 race before Irod made it for the Insiders only.
Eeew, you are right. It looks a bit cold and wet at this time of year. :)
I didn't realize so many parts of Nome were SO close to the water! You can see the waves breaking right behind the buildings.
just had a look at this out of curiosity to see if it still works and boy is it wet and grey looking, not at all like pictures we are used to seing, all white and prity, tend to forget the rest of the year it is much like where we live.

That web cam is pretty neat, nice to see home once in a while when I'm gone. Did you know that a Texas lady once called the cops in Nome because a drunk was passed out on the street? Poor ah, she was just looking at the camera I think it was during All Alaska Sweepstakes. The cops picked up the person. I never liked front street much, that's where most of them hang out. But I never knew some of them were big mushing fans like this guy I know who's a regular on front street. He got everyone's signature during the AAS, we talked about the races and it was pretty cool to think of him as a fan instead of a homeless guy. He didn't even offer to sell his nice scarf that had all the musher's signature. If you see a homeless guy with a hunchback walking on front street in that webcam, that's him - a big mushing fan! I forget his name it starts with an L.
