How often do you brush your dog's teeth? I was just reading in a dog care booklet that you are supposed to brush their teeth once every week? In that case, I need to brush them MUCH more! :)

But I do give them chew toys, etc...so that should help.

I asked our local vet about this and she said that it was not necessary for us to brush their teeth as we were feeding the dogs dry food. It reduces the risk of food getting stuck between the teeth.
In my case my dogs dont even chew, its four mouthfuls and its gone!

I might start doing it once a month.

CapeSledding, I believe when dogs eat dry food, the food kind of "crushes" into the dogs teeth, cleaning them nicely. The problem with this is that now I am soaking the dog's food, so it isn't so hard any more!

It's kind of like how an apple will clean a humans teeth.

Exactly, it's more like, the dogs just inhale the food. :)

I don't. If they get bad, I'll scrape off the tartar with a guitar pick (my vet recommended it!)

LOL, guitar pick? That's hilarious. I have tons of those lying around. Thanks for the tip Kristen!
