Barrie, ON (Vocus/PRWEB) February 04, 2011
The city of Barrie celebrates Winterfest, one of the top 100 festivals in Ontario, February 5-6. Heritage Park is the home of a polar bear dip, horse-drawn wagon rides, dogsled rides, mini-tube run, lumberjack shows, giant snow slide and ice maze. The Festival of Ice coincides with Winterfest featuring 300 pound blocks of ice carved into themed sculptures. Winterfest is a family event on Barries breathtaking waterfront. I bring my kids every year and come early to enjoy the pancake breakfast, say Kathleen Trainor, executive director of Tourism Barrie. Make it a family weekend getaway and stay at one of Barries family friendly hotels.
