2009 Iditarod Rookie Musher Kurt Reich (Bib #63) made the decision to scratch from the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race at 6:15 pm at Don’s Cabin (a resting place for teams between Ophir and Iditarod). The 47 year old rookie from Divide Colorado made the decision to scratch based on his teams’ ability to continue the race. Reich and his team of 11 dogs are in the process of returning to Ophir Checkpoint at this time.
