Crashing Computer Heralds Arrival Of Summer Temps

Location: Middle GA
Time - 8:59pm
Temperature: 84 degrees F
Conditions: Partly cloudy, humid
Forecast: Partly cloudy today, mostly sunny tomorrow. Lows in the 70s, highs in the 90s

It was nice while it lasted. The lush green Spring. The mild temperatures. Actually getting rain. But that’s changing fast. The creek I let Calypso play in halfway through our early morning runs is fast drying up. Everything else is drying up too. And the muggy heat of Summer is beginning to be noticeable. Thank goodness Calypso is almost through blowing her coat and most of that underfur is gone. It’s been working well tethering her while I brush her. However the backyard looks like it’s been attacked by wads of white fur and I’ve got to clean that up.

In the meantime, while trying to put together a video of my Alaska experiences last March, my computer crashed big time. So now I have no computer (and before you ask “how the heck are you blogging”, we are visiting relatives and I have access to their PC). So I have no idea what that will mean. In the meantime, I’m going to keep on mushing!

Chasing The Armada

Location: Northwest GA
Time - 11:29am
Temperature: 81 degrees F
Conditions: Cloudy
Forecast: Partly cloudy today, sunny tomorrow. Lows in the 60s, highs in the 90s

I have started some Summer training. Not anything big, but just short scooter runs so Calypso and I will stay fit during these warm months. I am also using this time to experement with food. I have been feeding ProPlan but I have the bag of Eagle Pack from the Blue Ridge Dryland Challenge that needs to be tried out. It will be interesting to see if it makes any difference when I switch over to that in the next couple of weeks.

On our short, early morning scooter runs, we go to a creek where Calypso can jump in. She loves to get in the water and drink and cool off. This is really good since even the early morning temps are ridiculously warm. The problem is, the water in the creek is disappearing since we haven’t had good rain recently. I hope we get some soon because otherwise the creek is going to dry up again.

This morning on our run, Calypso decided to try and catch an Armada. That is, the vehicle Armada. Our neighbor’s to be exact. It was driving slowly along the road in front of us - slower than Calypso wanted to go. I had to keep on the brakes HARD the entire time because she was bound and determined to catch it. I think next time we’ll go in front of the Armada!

Stay tuned for some pretty exciting updates and major news about our plans for this Winter!
