Customer Reviews:
Good security cam system I chose this system because everyone said it was easy to install (2 hrs), but I found the hard way that that statement depends on how your home was built. The back right side of my home was terrible! The corner had double insulation & some thing keeps blocking the passing a cable through the ceiling. I had to change the placement of cameras to overcome this problem which took me all day just to end up putting the installation on hold. Otherwise the system is good, I tested the cameras before installing and I like the fact I will have a full-time DNS to monitor it over the web. But that too, I will have to wait and see. There is one thing I do not like about the system. That is; the pictures depicting the cameras is misleading. I cannot install the cameras to the ceiling, plus the description leads you to believe the cameras have audio. When you go the user manual it is clear the cameras are NOT audio capable, so there is no audio with this system. I will update this posting after I complete the installation. But this is NOT an EASY install by any means! Amazon needs to make sure the photos provided by the vendors is an accurate depiction of the product being sold. These cameras are depicted one way, but when you get the item they are different. CAUTION!
Easy to Operate and Install Let me start off by saying we have a small business that consists of a used car lot and repair shop. Every once in a while we have items stolen from cars on the lot or find that someone had dumped their garbage in our dumpsters. The Lorex LH108321C8B 8-Camera Network Video Surveillance System hopefully is going to put a stop to the invaders.
After opening and inspecting the items in the box, we decided where we would set up the cameras to have the best visibility on the premises. We began installing the cameras at 10am and we finished by 3pm. Installation was simple and did not involve any really hard work except drilling holes into the aluminum siding and feeding the camera cables to an upstairs office. Only two screws mount the cameras. The only negative comment I can say about the installation is that the knob to secure the cameras does not “finger” tightened every well. When a strong breeze flew by, the camera would move. We used a wrench to tighten the position of the camera but made sure not to strip it. We connected the DVR to a 20″ computer monitor by using an HDMI connector cable. We were impressed with the quality of the images. Colors are vivid and no really noticeable fuzziness. The only thing we noticed with the images is that scenes directly in front of the camera are crystal clear but as you look further past it starts to become less clear. We could not wait to see how the night vision worked. The next morning we reviewed the previous night’s recording. It only used 47GB of the hard drive after 18 hours of continuous use. You do have the options of setting up specific times you want the video to record so you use less space on the hard drive. The night vision worked well except in areas where there was floodlights or streetlights. The images from those cameras were fuzzy. Just make sure to mount the cameras in areas that the camera view is not directly facing some type of night lighting. When reviewing the video you are able to pause it and zoom in on images. The DVR interface is extremely easy to navigate. You can select your options manually by using the buttons on the DVR or use the included mouse.
I cannot really comment on the remote access options since we do not intend to use those features. However I will mention that I found it amusing how the instructions had a little picture and stated if you had to be highly skilled for certain connections. Included a one long ground cable which we had no clue where to put it since the directions did not mention it.
The unit only comes with one “warning premises under 24 hour video surveillance” sticker. I wished it would of at least have 4 to be able to display it on all four sides of the building. You are able to purchase additional stickers, cable extensions and accessories directly from the manufacturers website.
Overall, great camera system for a home or small business. Easy to install and operate.
Security camera for home use My brother called me after he visited Fry’s in Seattle. He said that Lorex was top of the line for home security cameras per a sales persone he spoke to at Fry’s. This was a fantastic price from Amazon and the shipping was free. My son installed it over the course of a week (planning where to place the cameras, etc.) and this system is great. The clarity is amazing both day and night. It’s easy to operate for playback and we haven’t had any problems at all. Hopefully if anyone comes on our property again, we can get a good pic to give to the police!

Customer Reviews:
Best SanDisk I’ve Used So far I started in 2005 with the Ultra II series and have continually sold & upgraded as my needs dictated. I’m now using a Canon 5D Mark II which has HD video (I think we all know that by now), but the camera also creates a 30mb RAW file every time I snap the shutter. So, write speed is very important. I WAS using the Extreme IV series cards (45mb/sec), and even with the slower 4fps in the 5D2, the camera would hang after a few shots to write the data. Now with these new 16gb Extreme cards I get to hold down the shutter button and record WAY more images before the buffer starts to hold things up. What an improvement! This new series is worth every dollar. Remember, faster cards also give you longer battery life since the data writes faster, so that’s another plus to these new Extreme cards. They are UDMA level 5 which is nice (the 5D2 handles up to 6). BTW, UDMA simply means that the card does a lot of the file processing, which gets you faster write speed. Non-UDMA cards make the camera do all the work when writing images to the card. If you have a UDMA-enabled camera, by all means get UDMA-enabled cards.
One last thing to help clear confusion on the card naming format: the 133X and 300X and all that simply means the speed that the card can write data. SanDisk doesn’t use that prominently in their marketing, they tend to say “30mb/sec” or “60mb/sec”, like that. Lexar uses the ###X format all the time. So when shopping around, keep this in mind:
SanDisk Ultra II: 15mb/sec (the original version) - Lexar calls it 100X (this older model is NON-UDMA) SanDisk Ultra II: 20mb/sec (the updated version) - Lexar calls it 133X (this older model is NON-UDMA) SanDisk Extreme III: 30mb/sec (the original version) - Lexar calls it 200X (this older model is NON-UDMA) (Thanks Uri for the correction in Comments!) SanDisk Extreme IV: 45mb/sec - Lexar calls it 300X (The SanDisk Ducati line is also 45mb/sec and UDMA enabled) SanDisk’s New Extreme: 60mb/sec - Lexar will call it 400X SanDisk’s New Extreme Pro: 90mb/sec - Lexar will call it 600X
Hope that helps understand all of this!
UPDATE (12-29-2009): I also wanted to mention that I’ve owned nearly 15 SanDisk CF cards since 2005 and I have never had ONE fail on me. I learned a trick from a pro: after you COPY (not MOVE) your images onto your PC, always format the card IN-CAMERA before you shoot again. Don’t use Windows to delete your images off the card. The CF cards get grumpy for some reason (no matter what brand you use). I’ve shot 20,000 images on four different camera bodies, and never one card failure in four years.
Fast way to boost speed of your DSLR I had been using SanDisk Extreme III (30 MB/s) in my Nikon digital SLR, and while they were reliable and so on, I was never able to get the full high speed frame rate Nikon promises. Instead of the 5-7 frames per second, I was getting more like 2-3.
Switching to the 60MB/s fixed that problem, and now I’m getting the full performance my camera is capable of…at least 5 fps under most conditions.
Interestingly, I also purchased a smaller card capable of 90MB/s, and saw no real difference, so I’m considering the 60MB/s version ideal - nice, since it’s much less expensive than the faster cards.
Recommended if you need the best frame rate out of your camera.
Will it work for a Canon 7D? Okay, so when I recently purchased a new Camera (a Canon 7D, 18 mega-pixel stills + 1080p video camera) and I was convinced I needed the SanDisk Extreme Pro 90mb/s card to take full advantage of the 8 pictures per second burst rate this camera had to offer… then… I started looking at the prices for those cards. *wince*
So, after I’d picked my jaw off the floor, I came across this card. It’s still UDMA (where the card does some of the processing, not just the camera, resulting in better speeds), still faster than any of the older Extreme (and Ultra) series cards including the Extreme IV’s by a noticeable margin, and my money buys me much more storage space, at significantly lower cost. But… would it be fast ‘enough’?
Well, I was still hesitant… but at almost 1/3 the cost (and since having no memory card makes my camera a little useless), I decided to pull the trigger. I dropped it in, fired it up, and put it to the test. I was expecting shutter lag… or the dreaded “busy” light flashing at me when I really let it fly on full speed. Much to my pleasant surprise, this never happened! I was able to rip away at full speed without any issues at all.
If you’re thinking about buying a memory card for this camera (or another high-megapixel DSLR) and you want as much memory AND speed as your dollars can afford, with out sacrificing camera performance… this series of card is for you. I, personally, see no reason to require the MUCH more expensive Extreme Pro for use in this camera… well… unless you have money just burning a hole in your pocket.

Customer Reviews:
Fairly priced and reliable Please be aware, before buying this printer, that it uses traditional four-color (cyan, magenta, yellow, black (CMYK)) technology. While four-color printing is the standard for offset color printing (i.e.: the process used by commercial printing plants), this printer is not capable of producing the lifelike continuous tones of a six-or-more color printer designed for printing photographs. That doesn’t mean it’s bad for its intended use-the speedy printing of typical business documents on plain paper, or getting output that simulates the four-color offset printing process-but it does mean that shoppers looking for photographic-quality output should look for a different printer better suited to that objective.
On behalf of a family member who works as a commercial artist, I wanted a large-format printer to replace a pair of ancient Epsons that constantly clogged. I bought a new large-format Epson (Workforce 1100-see my review) thinking that 15 years of development since my old printers were made would mean Epson had solved the clogging problem. I was mistaken-it clogged almost immediately and took multiple ink-consuming cleaning cycles to clear before it clogged again-so I returned it.
I was somewhat wary of this OfficeJet 7000, since it has gotten some very articulate and feature-specific negative reviews on Amazon. However, I took a chance because A. there are very few large-format inkjet printers available, and B. those that HP sells specifically for graphics users (DesignJets) hover around the $1000 mark-They may be very good printers, but I didn’t want to spend that much.
Making sure that the local store I bought my OfficeJet 7000 from had a reasonable return policy, I dragged the large box home and began to unpack it. The first thing that surprised me was seeing that it has built-in ethernet-a rare feature among printers in this price range. While I don’t need to network the printer at the moment, and I don’t know how well it works, it’s nice to know we have that option down the road, without buying additional hardware. I connected it via USB (you’ll need your own cable), and got to work.
Installation of the printhead and supplied starter inks was fast and easy, and the software installed quickly on my Mac (OS X). As I recall, the printer then started its own ink priming/calibration routine that took about 15 minutes-a one-time thing, unless you want to manually run it again later (I have not had to).
With its print driver set to maximum quality, output quality on the 7000 (from Adobe Illustrator on a Mac) is very good-Again, for its intended use of printing business documents and graphic designs with solid blocks of color, not photos intended for framed art. In general, output colors are very bright and close to what I see on the screen-and this is on plain paper-although darker colors (like deep browns) appear just a bit washed out, and there is no setting I can find in the print driver to directly fine-tune this density.
Speaking of software, the 7000 comes with a decent CD that not only inserts the usual controls for various basic printer settings into the OS-level print dialog (OS X, in my case), but includes gadgets that let you run utilities on the printer such as head cleaning and additional calibration cycles (haven’t needed it) and track what you’ve printed and how often you’ve interacted with the printer for such events as ink cartridge changes. Just keep in mind, if you are a user looking for endless print output tweakability, this software doesn’t have much-It was clearly designed for the simplicity that business users want. The good news, as I mentioned above, is that I’ve found its output to be quite color-accurate without a lot of tweaking, even if the dark mixed colors suffer a bit (black is fine). However, if you really want press-proof quality output, check out one of the HP printers designed for the graphic arts.
Like all inkjets, the OfficeJet 7000 is built on the model of selling you the printer relatively cheaply, then making money for the manufacturer on your future ink purchases. I can accept this reality, and the less-than-perfect color calibration (of dark colors) if I know the printer will work reliably, and so far this 7000 has been a champ. After years of dealing with the endless clogs (and unreplaceable printheads) of Epson printers, I am luxuriating in the sheer joy and novelty of a printer that just uncomplainingly puts ink down on paper without clogging every ten minutes. It’s been six weeks and not a single clog. And while I would characterize the 7000’s actual printing speed as “pretty fast” compared to my retired Epsons, the biggest improvement in overall output speed has come from simply not having to take time out to unclog the old Epsons’ finicky heads.
As for reviews that mention paper jams, I can only guess that such reviewers got lemons, because my 7000 has been jam-free from the beginning, even with light cardstock that has to bend around a paper path that starts with the front-load tray. I would have preferred a printer with the option of a straight-through paper path (like the Epson Workforce 1100) for heavier stock, but that’s a minor quibble when you consider how much more reliable it has been.
Good looking printer but very poor quality prints We were very excited to buy our first wide-format printers. I am a designer and photographer and my husband is an architect so we needed something to meet both our needs. The cost seemed amazing $[...] on sale from $[...] but the quality of the images that came out was far worse than our 10 year- old less than $[...]printer.
First off we did many tests- probably about $[...] worth of paper and ink. Tried it with all the special HP recommended papers tried several settings, printing from different programs, different papers. Everything looked grainy. The vectors and lines looked ok so long as they were not inverted (white lines with black background).
-If you just want to print AutoCad 13×19 drawings (black vectors)- then you should be fine. -If you want low contrast color pictures and you don’t care if the shaded areas are a bit grainy- then you should be fine.
Anything else for the HP officejet 7000 just falls short.
HP 7000 Wide Review The printer has very good quality. I like the fact that the software integrates well with the hP solution center so you can go to one place to view things such as ink and cleaning of print heads (I also have an officejet Pro 8000). The only thing I had a problem with was I thought it would print borderless on all formats up to the maximum size (I think it was 13 x 19). I made a custom brochure using Adobe Indesign and built it at 8.5 x 14 to give me a little more area to work with but could not find the setting to print borderless at that size. It supported 8.5 x 11 and 11 x 17 borderless. It would have been nice to have all sizes borderless. Maybe HP could put out an updated driver that would allow for that. Otherwise, it is a good printer for the money.

hayward This is my second Haier TV I purchased a 7″ portable model for use during power outages, but it needs a decent outdoor antenna because im in a fringe area, get about 8-10 channels.
The 22″ model I just purchased was easy to set up has a great picture and sound for a smaller TV. Has numerous custom setting features and can be viewed from a decent angle. The 22″ picture is great for a medium size room.
I read numerous reviews on 19″ TV’s and found them to be lacking in one feature or another, I was suprised to see the 22″ Haier model so I though I would Try it.
Works for me!
Good TV, Good Price We have owned this tv for 3 weeks. Bought it for our workout room in the basement. We used the PA730 Peerless wall mount. Mounted Easy, Setup was Easy. Packaged and shipped great. Good TV for the price! I will definitely consider HAIER for other TV purchases in the future.
